Video:Librarians (LRCN) Protest 3 Months Non Payment of Salaries.

By Ada Nkong

The NCSU/LRCN Unit Led by the National Body Representatives staged a protest to the Office of the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria Chief Executive/Registrar on Monday 19th February, 2024, demanding immediate solution to the Federal Government Directives to the organization to be self funding effective January 2024.

This they said among other things has resulted to the Council’s removal from Federal Government budget funding which consequently made the staff not receive January, 2024 salaries.

According to them, this is the 3rd time of protest on the matter as the Union of staff are not convinced that the management of the council and the supervising Ministry of Education are working enough to address the matter thus leaving them hopeless in their future careers.

Furthermore the Nigeria Civil Service, LRCN Unit Union Leader appeals to the management of Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria, the Minister of Education and the Presidency to urgently address their plight and to put an end to the situation of staff continuous unpaid salaries as the organization has been removed from the Federal Government’s Budget Funding.
