Birthday Celebration: DC Enamhe Celebrates Mike Onah

Mike Onah is a Good Man
He could say anything about me
He knows me
He read in Mary knol college
He read in Rimax Lagos
He read in ABU Zaria
He read in BSU Makurdi

I remember visiting Mike in ABU
I also visited chris in OAU Ife and Uko in Uniport
But visiting you in school does not mean you graduated
Mike Graduated unlike them

Mike has a masters unlike them

When I was in the finals of the John Players National Disco Championship

Mike was one of those who visited me then at the Federal Palaace Hotel and watched me live at the National theatre
Mike never never kept bad friends
Mike never stole
Mike was never in prison
Mike never did drugs
Mike is my friend

Mike never says he took me and introduced to a Governor 17 years after we founded the PDP
Mike won’t say he raised my hands and told a Governor whom I introduced to John and Donald on the 15th of September,2001 at the UJ Esuene’s lodge that he told him to help me

Mike knows my fathers house at no 18 Lagos’s street Igoli where he taught me how to dance
Mike never stole from Justice Nnang’s house

Mike has never said he is a High Chief and would never

The Old Ogoja Nation does not confer High Chief on any one even Tony and Peter know they are not High Chiefs

Mike and I are late John Odey’s friends
We kept faith at the funeral and were not struggling to take people to our homes to show off our village houses when people where mourning
I am fortunate to God be the Glory to come from a home with so many professionals

My father never taught us how to beg or lie
Marc and Emma Enamhe are celebrated lawyers today

Somehow i May struggle to remain modest and live a simple life but God has blessed me exceedingly with good friends like Mike Onah
I may not have so much but somehow luckily I do not pay rent to any one be it in Gakem,Igoli,Calabar or Abuja

I love celebrating my friends
I love celebrating my schoolmates
I love celebrating people we grew up together ( and I have pictures and videos to show)

Somehow I am one of the few with the highest number of Schoolmates and acquaintances in this country
So you can’t say we grew up together and we don’t have pictures

Peter you lied
Peter you are not my friend
Peter we didn’t grow up together
Peter you have no certificate not even YASCO has your records
Moving forward it’s WORLD MIKE ONAH’s DAY

You know Mike and I are Sociologist

Happy Birthday to the Great Mike Onah ( A Guy with a Good Heart )

I can tell you for free ,growing up back in the day
We met different people

Even way back in MARY kNOLL we had Abakpa and Igoli boys (the difference was clear ) today Urban Ward 1 and urban wars 2 boys

Hotels were not affordable then so after all those mid night parties back then, they only home to sleep was the home of the Onah’s in Abakpa Because Chief Onah and his beautiful wife were enlightened and accommodating

Mike Onah stood out early as a leader, slim handsome and chocolate brown with an infectious smile that is still his brand gift style till now

His football skills were unimaginable ,you know Mary knoll was football and football was Mary knoll
His dribbling skills was breathtaking

His control of the ping pong in table tennis was something else, that was another place in Mary knoll that class didn’t matter (we were on thesame team for the state finals and mike was so hot, hope Waddel won’t forget in a hurry mikes top spins)

Then came the break dance era
Mike and Chris Okey were something else on the dance floor the first time I watched mike do the back slide dance move at itek hotels, I taught he had tyres under his foot (OMG)

And in all of this I was a prefect and mike was my junior
I wanted to learn how to dance ,and if I must learn,it must not be from a junior student but Mike was handsome and the talk of Mt Carmel girls.

So caved in and took dance lessons from Mike and Chris Okey

The send off parties were coming up amongst all the schools in the north of Cross River, those of Mt Carmel and Ntol comprehensive were the delight of us all.
UniBekwe was also a stopover

I also wanted to dress well so I begged Mike to teach me how to dress ,I will watch the clothes they bring back from Lagos and run to Okuku market to open the bail to look for look alike clothes

Mike and his cousin Chris Okey were the best in all of Ogoja and they had a way of showing off their new cloths and styles especially on Ishibori New Yam Festival (September 15 ) days

They taught me how to crack my bones with the electric boogaloo dance style for a fee (not to say hello to his babes in Mt Carmel)

Mike insisted I learnt the back slides from Chris

Mike was slim and athletic so he taught me the back flip which was the speciality of the Rev Dr King Idris our beloved Pastor and African Escape (my all time dance rival in calabar )

Mike is a man who celebrates friendship
Mike keeps relationships up till now any friend mike had he still keeps in touch to this moment

Mike makes calls
Mike Onah is prayerful and reads widely so when we meet he says have you read this book?
He has deep calling in leadership

Mike is not a jealous man
Mike would always call you on your birthday and will always wish your wife Happy Birthday on her special day

Mike Onah celebrates his friends when they succeed and stays on when even when they are frustrated or in low spirit

Even when I won the John Players Disco Dancing championship Mike came to the federal palace hotel to visit and followed me to the National theatre Lagos (not minding that it was him who taught me how to dance ) for Finals

Mike it was ,when we were in the struggle that introduced me to the young Senator Dino in ABU after I delivered my famous Bakasi speech in the ABU NANs senate that year

Politically Mikeeeeey hasn’t been favored
He has worked for all political sensibilities in Boki
From Eddie Ogon to Chris Eta and Jake Otu Enya all the way to Ambassador Soni Abang

As I write Mike is still working and is always happy to work

Today I want to celebrate my true childhood friend ,my mentor and teacher
A young man that is so deep

Unlike now that they are no friendships anymore only interest and what you can get from the person

I want to celebrate a Boki Hero
A young Man who taught me consistency (that’s why I’m still in my party amidst all I go through )

Respectful and dependable
Maybe because of his training from Rimax In Lagos to ABU and ending up in BSU

well cultured and educated

I recall as if it was yesterday the late Deputy Governor HE Chief John Okpa had a challenge in Lagos and I needed someone to step in and Mike came in handy ,I recall how Etubom Anthony Ani described him “the extremely fat smart dude “

Mike is a future assured
Mike thinks Cross …River
Mike is good
Happy Birthday Pope
Happy birthday Crazy Pawpaw
Happy Birthday Mr Chairman
Please join me let’s celebrate Mikeeeeey the Good Man

Have a blast today Mike

You know I taught that today I would have been wishing the next chairman of Boki Happy Birthday

but Mikes political friends failed him again
Mike remain steadfast

before your next birthday
God will surely elevate you

Just in tears of joy in my eyes
Join me to wish a good and dependable friend Happy Birthday to great Pope

Friends are Forever Amen
