Philanthropist Captain Hart Modey has congratulated Comrade Blessing Alims for breaking records as the first female president of the student union government of the University of Calabar.
In a release made available to our correspondent, Captain Modey, a politician from Northern Cross River State, expressed joy at the development which he said is a testament to the fact that women can aspire to be anything they want to despite the barriers.

He commended the SUG President for her courage and determination which he said are very important in the life of every young person aspiring for greatness.
According to him ” the way to success and greatness is paved with challenges and obstacles which may seem insurmountable but where there is a will, there is a way”.
Captain Hart Modey urged young people in Cross River State to emulate Comrade Alims and channel their youthful energy into breaking fallow grounds and acquiring skills and experience that will pave the way to a brighter future.
He further debunked the popular maxim ‘ School Na scam’ assuring them that he has attained the height he currently is as a result of education and continuous learning.
Comrade Blessing Alims who emerged in the recent SUG elections is a 300 level student of peace and conflict studies at the University of Calabar in addition to being a student , volunteers with local and international NGOs like UNFPA,Aids healthcare foundation and girls power initiative among others.
She is also skilled in shoe making, fashion designer and a number of other arts
