The Nigerian railway corporation NRC, has taken delivery of yet another round of 17 locomotive driven containers from Kano state, North West Nigeria, in Lagos, South West.
A statement signed by the MD NRC Engr. Fidet Okhiria says this is in continuation and consolidation of freight services launched by the ministry of transportation in June, 2024.

He says the cargo train which arrived Lagos at about noon on July 15, departed the Dala inland dry port Kano on July 5. A journey that was made only during the daytime
The Nigerian government believes the cargo haulage system will ease movement of goods from the ports to the hinterlands, while reducing not only the numbers of articulated vehicles on the Nigerian roads, but averting possible mishaps.
