UrueOffong/Oruko: PDP Stakeholders Condemn  Petition for Removal of Dr Tukubok Okpoyo From Chairmanship Race

Some stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party in Urueoffong Oruko local government, Akwa Ibom State have raised an alarm over a petition by some politicians asking for the removal of Dr Tukubok Okpoyo Transition Chairman of the local government from the chairmanship race.

In a petition to the Director state security service made available to our correspondent, signed by Chief Esio Udoh former National Assembly member, Chief Okpo Edeke Edeke , chapter chairman,Amb. Etim Okpoyo former deputy governor and Mrs Mary Bassey a state official among others, the stakeholders lamented that removal of Dr Okpoyo from the race would scuttle the zoning arrangements.

According to them Dr Okpoyo is from Urueoffong development area which has never produced a female chairman,adding that the wards with zoning rights are 9,8and 6.

The petition further referred to her hard work in her present position as well as past performances and called for objectivity and fairness in reviewing the situation.
