Age is just a number and 70 is the new 30..These were part of the sentiments shared by guests at the Thanksgiving celebration of Lady Sarah Ara Ogar (LSM) as she turned 70.
The Thanksgiving which was attended by family and friends started with a surprise serenade at her residence followed by mass at Holy Family Catholic Church Ikom town.
At the mass,the Chief celebrant lauded the celebrant for her sacrificial spirit and devotion to the church. According to him, “she is a blessing to the church and to many as nobody comes in contact with her without being blessed”.
After the mass, the family hosted guests at a reception held in the family compound which was graced by Knights of St. Mulumba ,St. Vincent De Paul society and St. Jude all three to whom she belongs.
Also present were former colleagues, family and friends from far and near.
Encomiums poured in from inlaws, her children and others who took turns to comment on her humility, accommodating spirit and devout Christian life.
There was plenty to eat and drink after which the celebrant and her husband Sir Raphael Ogar opened the floor, dancing to old school music.
Lady Sarah Ogar thanked God for preserving her life. She recounted some major challenges which God had seen her through and asked for God’s blessings on all who came to celebrate with her.
