In what can best be described as a fortunate turn of events, the burial committee has announced November 30 as the date for burial of the former Senate President who died in the UK . Secretary to the committee , Dr DC Enamhe made this known while briefing Newsmen in Calabar
Recall that the late elder statesman passed in November 2021 while seeking medical attention outside the country . Various attempts to bring his body back home for burial failed until recently when a group,Who is who in Cross River North with the support of Chief Bassey Otu ,successfully repatriated his corpse.
Dr Enamhe said exact details about the service of songs, commendation service and other activities would be communicated next week.
While appreciating the Governor of Cross River State, Chief Bassey Otu for making it possible through his support, the Bassang nation for their cooperation and the Who is who forum in Northern Cross River for not relenting in their efforts to see their late Icon befittingly laid to rest, they called on all admires of the Late Sen. Joseph Wayas to turn out to honor him during the burial ceremonies.
