
The federal government says it is poised to leverage on the knowledge,expertise and global Connections of Nigerians in diaspora to bridge the developmental gap between Nigeria and the rest of the world .
President Tinubu who was represented by the secretary to the government of the reservation, Sen. George Akume made this known during the seventh Nigerian diaspora summit held at the presidential villa ,Abuja.
Describing the theme,’Adapting Stability through Diaspora Investment: Navigating the Path to Prosperity”, as apt, he applauded the Nigerians in diaspora commission as well as the Nigerians in diaspora summit team for organising the pitching opportunities for seven years running, outlining the boost it has given to entrepreneurs and attract investors from all over.
Sen. Akume, highlighted the diaspora invaluable contributions to Nigeria’s progress, describing them as “torch-bearers of excellence, innovation, and resilience.” He asserted that Nigeria’s future depends on leveraging the knowledge, expertise, and global networks of its diaspora.
“Your achievements are a source of pride for us all, and your potential to shape Nigeria’s future is undeniable,” he stated.

Earlier in her address, the chairman CEO NiDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa welcomed everyone and commended Nigerians in diaspora for their huge diaspora remittances which she said contribute significantly to the GDP. She also lauded them for creating more entrepreneurs by their investments over the years. i
On her part, the summit coordinator Dr Badewa Williams-Adejugbe identified small and medium scale businesses as the backbone of the economy. She encouraged pitchers to leverage on the training provided by NDIS to make great pitches and expressed hope to see their businesses blossom as a result of the summit.
She further applauded diasporq investors for patronizing consistently our local biz. According to her,diaspora is an indispensable ally in the quest for national development. She also appreciated NIDCOM and the DTCA for their support over the years.

Also present at the event were the chairmen house of representatives and senate committee on diaspora as well as other top government dignitaries, diasporans from all over the world and entrep=ensures.
