In a notice released by the tribunal’s secretary, Mu’Azu Ibrahim Bagudu Esq., it was said that the tribunal will now convene at the National Judicial Institute (NJI), located on Airport Road, Abuja, effective Monday, January 27, 2025.

However an Edo Indigene Osas Iyamu who showed up to witness the proceedings expressed disappointment that commencement had been moved to Tuesday 28 January.

This decision to move the tribunal to Abuja was prompted by ongoing hostility and threats from purported  thugs, aims to ensure the safety of all parties involved in the proceedings.

Justice Wilfred Kpochi has ordered that the cross-examination of PW12 in case EPT/ED/GOV/02/2024, Ighodalo Asuerinme & Anor Vs. Independent National Election Commission (INEC) & 2 Others, and the hearing of other petitions, will continue through January 28, 2025, in the new location.

This relocation underscores the tribunal’s commitment to maintaining a secure and impartial environment for legal proceedings.
