NCAA Builds Capacity in Aviation Reportage

In a bid to ensure effective communication of policies, programs and updates about it’s activities and the aviation sector in general,the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has organized a two day training program for aviation correspondents in Abuja.

Speaking to Journalists during the training, Mrs Uju Mbamadu , Assistant Director public relations with the NCAA harped on the need for professional and ethical reportage by ensuring Objective and fair reporting.

The theme of the workshop is ‘The Role of Media in Initiative and Innovation to Improve Aviation Safety and Regulation.

The Journalists were taken through the workings of the NCAA as well as the roles of different directorates to guide them while educating the public.

Other areas dealt with include the NCAA ‘s responsibilities, Passenger rights and channels of communication, The IDERA convention and its benefits to Nigeria as well as practical exercises in responsible reporting.

According to Mrs Mbamadu,this is the second year the NCAA is training journalists in Abuja and the decision is based on tangible results seen from the first training.

The Chairman Abuja Transport and Aviation Correspondents, Ejike Omeje who spoke on behalf of the journalists, appreciated the NCAA for the opportunity and assured them of the readiness of ATACA to partner the NCAA towards safer Skies.
