Peace Ambassador of Nigeria, Amb Hart modey has called for a Presidential Pardon, for Abba Kyari
In a statement made available to our correspondent, Amb. Modey said Abba Kyari, once hailed as Nigeria’s “super cop,” consistently demonstrated remarkable dedication and proficiency in law enforcement adding that his career saw him tackle difficult cases, from kidnappings to organized crime, earning him a reputation for brilliance in policing. Solving such high-stakes crimes didn’t just make headlines; it restored order and safety in volatile areas, reinforcing his importance to national security.
Recall that, Kyari’s career hit a roadblock with his suspension, sparked by allegations that have cast shadows over his achievements however Modey says some argue that his expertise and track record could still serve Nigeria well as returning Kyari to active duty might bolster efforts against crime given his proven ability to handle complex investigations adeptly.
Amb. Modey further says offering a presidential pardon isn’t about ignoring allegations; it’s about weighing past contributions with current needs granting this pardon might reinvigorate national security efforts by leveraging Kyari’s seasoned perspective and strategic acumen.
He however says ultimately, the decision should consider not only safeguarding justice but also enhancing the country’s broader security landscape.
