By Ada Nkong

Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council of the African Aviation and Aerospace University, AAAU, Alhaji Bukar Goni has urged matriculating students of the school to be committed to aviation excellence.

Goni was represented by Mr. Aliyu Mohammed, Director professional training program.

In his speech, while referring to AAAU as a great university, he reminded the students that university life is not just about academics, adding that they should perform diligently and ethically.

Goni further advised the students to embrace opportunities and challenges so as to learn from them while pointing out that AAAU is their gateway to aviation excellence.

On his part, the Registrar of the school Dr. Sheikh Abdullahi Mustapha warned that the institution has zero tolerance for examination malpractice. While assuring students and parents that the school’s objective is to build the matriculating students academically and nurture character, he welcomed them formally to the school urging them to be worthy ambassadors.

Dr Abdullahi assured all that his administration operates an open door policy and is willing to listen to parents and students at all times.

On their part, two of the matriculating students, Amina Daya from the Department of Aviation business and Mathias Bamigboye spoke in glowing terms of the school.

While Amina said the school had transformed them into aviators in the making with access to high academic standards and an enabling environment, Mathias was proud of the fact that though a federal institution, the school could compete favorably and outclass most private universities adding that their comfort was guaranteed with suitable accommodations and their complaints were promptly dealt with.

Altogether, 38 students matriculated, 13 from the department of aviation business and  25 from the department of Meteorology.
