Encomiums have continued to flow as the Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, hands over five solar-powered boreholes to communities in Yala LGA.
A statement by Team Jari says this is to address the perennial water shortage facing different communities in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State.


Senator Jarigbe, who was represented at the project commissioning by the Constituency Officer, Mr. Egar Mgbantu, today stated that the project is in response to the request by these communities, which is in line with his quest to penetrate rural communities in Cross River North with human capital and infrastructural projects.




Mr. Egar stated that the project is one of the several quick-impact projects executed in various parts of the Senatorial District toward providing safe drinking water and promoting good hygiene to reduce cases of waterborne diseases.
“I believe that these projects will assist you to eliminate the dearth of potable drinking water faced by communities in Yala Local Government Area and its immediate environs,” he added.
He urged residents to give the necessary support and desired attention to the maintenance of the project, adding that Senator Jarigbe expects good reports on the management and maintenance of the facility for the benefit of the people.
The communities include:
- Echumoga – Echumofana Ward
- Yahe – Yahe Ward
- Ntrigom – Mfuma/Ntrigom Ward
- Ijiraga 1 – Ijiraga Ward
- Ochochi – Okpoma Ward
Leaders and residents of the communities appreciated the Senator for his kind and proactive gesture toward them.
A constituent Paul Ofana who thanked the Senator for his thoughtful project expressed hope that the Senator will stay long at the National Assembly vowing that in 2027 voting would be based on precedence.
A lady, Beatrice Oko who shared how water has been a source of concern to them and the rigors they pass through in the past to access water prayed for long life for the Senator.
“This Senator has really tried, he has given us what we have been hoping and asking for long cutting short our struggle with water. We will continue to vote for him till anytime”.
