Abuja — The resumption of plenary sessions at the National Assembly has been officially postponed by two weeks, shifting the new date from Tuesday, September 23 to Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
In a statement issued on Monday, Kamoru Ogunlana, Clerk to the National Assembly, said the directive came from the presiding officers of both chambers—the Senate and the House of Representatives. While no specific reason was provided for the rescheduling, the Clerk emphasized that committee activities would continue as scheduled
“All Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members are requested to take note of the new date and adjust their schedules accordingly,” the statement read.
The notice, addressed to members of the National Assembly and the general public, also expressed regret for any inconvenience the postponement may cause.
