It was a moment of joy and heartfelt celebration in Edok Oruko as Chief Elder Bassey Esin — former Transition Secretary of Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Area, APC chieftain, and Member, Governing Council Federal University of Karshere, Gombe State , again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to grassroots empowerment through his annual women outreach programme.
The event, which brought together widows and women from Ward 7 and surrounding communities, was marked by gratitude, hope, and renewed confidence in leadership.


Addressing the gathering, Chief Bassey encouraged the women to remain steadfast and hopeful, urging them to embrace the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the leadership of Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio and , the developmental strides of Governor Umo Bassey Eno, and the purposeful administration of Rt. Hon. Chief (Amb.) Uno Etim Uno, Chairman of Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Area.
He emphasized that women remain the backbone of the family and society, assuring them that sustainable empowerment, unity, and inclusive governance remain central to responsible leadership.



The high point of the outreach was the distribution of cash gifts, wrappers, and essential food items to widows and other women present.
The beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation for the thoughtful gesture, describing Chief Bassey as a compassionate leader who consistently identifies with the needs of his people.
The event was graced by Barr. Mrs. Ima Bassey Esin, wife of Chief Esin Bassey; Elder Edeke Edeke (Fmr.) PDP Chapter Chairman; Engr Chief Etete Etisong, Acting Village Head of Edok; Mr. Sunday Ben, Village Council Secretary; Engr. Dr. Job Okon Ben the State House aspirant for 2027 and his DG campaigns also graced the occasion and danced along with the cultural troup,alongside other respected community stakeholders.
Indeed, the outreach once again reinforced Chief Bassey Esin’s reputation as a grassroots mobilizer and a pillar of support for the women of Ward 7 and beyond. The wife of the late former Village head of Edok Village Mrs AFFIONG EFFIONG OKPO and other women all rose in appreciation to the member, Governing Council Chief for his outstanding empowerment program describing as a good politician who keeps in touch with his people to ensure that they benefit regularly from the dividends of democracy from the State and Local Government.
Also, at hand to appreciate Chief Bassey Esin for the empowerment program was the wife of the village head of Aniakpo Village in Urue Offong/Oruko LGA Mrs Rachel Moses Otoyo. She assured Chief Bassey Esin that all the women will support the second term ambition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno and,Amb. Uno Etim Uno the Executive Chairman of Urue Offong/Oruko LGA.
Mrs Rachel in deep appreciation to the donor refered to Chief Bassey Esin as a grassroots politician who always remember the women community in all his political dealings.
