By Ada Nkong

Former Minister of transportation, Rt  Hon. Rotimi Amaechi has taxed Muslims to foster tolerance and harmony.

A Statement signed by him reads thus;

“In commemoration of the joyous occasion of Eid el-Fitr, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all our Muslim brothers and sisters across the nation. This sacred celebration, following the holy month of Ramadan, is a reminder of the sacrifice, discipline, compassion, and shared values that bind us together as one people.

“While it is a time of thanksgiving to Almighty Allah, Eid el-Fitr is also a time to reflect on our collective responsibility as Nigerians, to build a society grounded on justice, peace, and mutual respect. It is a call to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, to care for the less privileged, and to renew our commitment to the ideals of tolerance and harmony.

“At a time when our nation faces diverse challenges, let us draw inspiration from the lessons of Ramadan which includes patience in adversity, generosity in abundance, and faith in the promise of a brighter tomorrow.

“Together, we can overcome insecurity, hunger, and disunity, and work towards building a better future and prosperity for all.

“May Allah accept your prayers and sacrifices, and may His grace continue to guide and protect you. I wish every Muslim a blessed Eid, and may the peace and blessings of this season abide with us all.

Eid Mubarak!
