It is true what they say about growing older. Somehow perspective changes and people become more important than things.
Especially for ladies, who have always been at the recieving end of jokes about staying the same age for years going by their declaration, I think Today’s woman is strong enough to be thankful for each year added and just wants to be surrounded by the people she loves.
Money , fame and power all have their allure but for me as I grow towards the middle of my forties my greatest wish is for peace and understanding.
To live undisturbed in my humble abode and share the joys and pains of friends and family. That to me is the ultimate.
To eat the simple lunch arranged for me by my 19 year old son and to get a phone call from my 14 year daughter in the boarding house that was priceless.
To be called while on air by my 17 year old who is an on air personality after trying to reach me 11 times and hear her say birthday prayers for me on national TV, that was a treasure, worth more than gold.
To hear my 22 year old who is a musician sing happy birthday and my friend with the golden voice sing to me, my day was made.
Finally I notice that it is the little things that count more these days and it is an amazing level of freedom.
To me and all the women passing through this awesome phase of life, stay golden.

Happy birthday Sis. God bless you.
