The senator elect, Cross River south senatorial district, Asuquo Ekpenyong has congratulated Prince Otu Bassey on his victory in the cross river gubernatorial election.
In a statement made available to our correspondent, Ekpenyong described the victory of Prince Otu and his deputy Peter Odey as being well deserved.
According to him, the people of
Cross River state have made the best choice which has resulted in a capable governor as well as equity in returning power to the south.
He expressed optimism that in the next four years, the fortunes of Cross River state under the APC government will continue to improve and called for all who have won election in the state irrespective of party affiliation to join hands to ensure peace and development in the state.
Prince Otu Bassey of the All Progressives Congress with 258,619 votes defeated his closest contender Sen. Sandy Onor of the PDP with 179,636 votes other contestants to emerge governor in last Saturday’s elections.
