Senator Aishatu Dahiru popularly known as Binani has emerged the governor of Adamawa state and thus the first female governor in Nigeria.
She defeated the sitting governor, Ahmadu Finitiri having scored 409,909 votes under the APC ticket while PDP followed closely with 406,617 votes .
This significant victory for the Nigerian women comes on the heels of the celebration of International Mother’s day.
