
The accident investigation bureau of Nigeria has declared their readiness to embrace innovations in the area of accident investigation.
The commissioner NAIB Engr.Akin Olateru who was represented by the director engineering, Engr Mohammed Wali gave this assurance during the closing ceremony of the workshop on the role of the Accident/incident investigation in the state safety Programme and flight recorder workshop organized by the Banjul accord group accident investigation agency in Abuja.
He expressed Joy that Nigeria had the opportunity to host this edition and appreciated the commissioner of BAGAIA, Engr. Charles Erhueh, the EU-ASA expert Mr Mario Colavita and the keynote speaker Mr Dennis Jones for their contribution towards the success of the workshop.
Engr Wali said ” * we are committed to safety in Africa and are ready to adapt to current trends and technologies in the aviation sector, especially in the area of accident investigation.
On his part, the BAGAIA commissioner,Engr. Charles Erhueh described the workshop as illuminating, saying that it had answered salient questions about what to do in various scenarios.
According to him,” these trainings and workshops are another fast way of cementing our alliances and putting up strong fronts in helping every nation within the ranks to reach the apex and equally achieve zero accidents within their airspace”.
He called on participants to use the experience garnered ” to bring up the next generation of investigators,teach them the ropes and guide them towards being worthy successors as we build towards the future of this profession”.
The commissioner thanked the federal republic of Nigeria for the way they have been treated for the five days the workshop lasted and appreciated the resource persons especially Sir.Dennis Jones for painstakingly impacting knowledge.
