DG Edo State Diaspora Agency
The Diaspora Akpakomiza Movement (DAM) has described a publication by Tony Nigro Erhabor led group calling for the resignation of Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor as Director-General of the Edo State Diaspora Agency as mischievous and baseless.
In statement signed by its spokesperson, Evangelist Oduanagbon Eddison Erhaighewu, DAM accused the group of acting out a script to undermine the achievements of Dr Loretta Ogboro-Okor, insisting that she has so far distinguished herself in service to the state and the diaspora community.
The statement further noted that since her appointment, the DG has driven initiatives that foster unity among Edo indigenes at home and abroad, while spearheading engagements that have enhanced opportunities for citizens irrespective of political affiliation.
Akpakomiza recalled that Dr Loretta Ogboro-Okor was a pillar of support in the emergence of Senator Monday Okpebholo as Governor of Edo State, and worked tirelessly under the platform of DAM, which was established by Governor Monday Okpebholo and has grown into a global network cutting across party lines.
Describing the attack as “unwarranted” the group demanded for a public apology as well as retraction of the statement by Tony Nigro Erhabor, Bishop Desmond Osawaru Amasihohu
and their media outfit .
“We will not fold our hands and watch the integrity of one of our most committed leaders dragged in the mud for selfish reasons. Dr. Loretta Ogboro-Okor has been tested, trusted, and is delivering results. We stand solidly behind her,” the group declared.
DAM members worldwide also commended Senator Monday Okpebholo for his wisdom and foresight in appointing Dr Loretta Ogboro-Okor, stressing that her performance has vindicated the decision.
