Breaking News: Edo High Court Upholds Okpebholo’s Appointment of Head of appellate Court

By Efosa Osagie

Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City presided over by Hon. Justice Momodu has dismissed a case against the appointment of an Acting President of the Customary Court of Appeal Edo State.

The case which was filed by Comrade Omobude Agho and two others sought reliefs of the court to, inter alia, stop the Governor of Edo State from appointing an Acting President of the re-established Customary Court of Appeal.

However, in its judgment the court noted that the Claimants lacked the necessary locus standi to institute the case, having failed to establish any interest in the cause of action. The court therefore dismissed the case for lack of locus standi and jurisdiction.
