Aviation Fuel Crisis:FG Dialogue With Aviation Fuel Marketers Inconclusive

After 48 hours of dialogue to resolve the aviation fuel crisis with President Tinubu granting a 30 percent discount on debts owed by airlines, the airline operators have hinted at a likely increase in airfares to sustain operations.


Addressing journalists after a closed door meeting that lasted four hours, Minister of aviation and aerospace development Festus Keyamo said focal persons from the interest groups comprising of the airline operators, oil marketers, oil regulators and the aviation ministry would have further discussions and update the public in the next 72 hours.


Chairman of the Airline Operators Allen Onyema thanked the Federal government for listening while stressing that within the next 7 days if nothing is done to ease the situation further, they would have reached their limits.
