NCAA Confirms Safety of Passengers in Asaba  Emergency Landing, Grounds Aircraft

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) says all passengers aboard   a privately operated aircraft that had an emergency landing in the vicinity of Asaba, Delta State, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 are safe.

In a preliminary report, the authority says available information indicates that the aircraft conducted a missed approach at approximately 0743 local time while attempting to land at Asaba.

Subsequently, the aircraft reportedly landed on a roadway in the Ogwashi-Uku area near Asaba where all occupants safely exited and were transported to Asaba by road.

The NCAA further says the operators  violated  the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs) by not reporting the incident immediately.

Upon its arrival in Lagos, the NCAA immediately grounded the aircraft and placed   the flight crew
under regulatory review pending the outcome of its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the occurrence and the subsequent unauthorized departure of the aircraft.
