Following a general blackout attributed to a strike action by workers in the electricity sector, the Minister of state for power, Prince Goddy Jeddy Agba has appealed to the striking electricity workers to show understanding with the Federal government as efforts were on to address pending issues in the power
Agba stated this while reacting to a protest in Abuja.
According to the Minister, dialogue is the best option between the workers and the government.
He however assured the electricity workers of government readiness to implement policies that would drive the energy sector sustainably which he said include the wages and benefit of the workers.
Agba said the challenges militating against steady power supply and the welfare of the workers were being looked into by the president Muhammadu Buhari administration.
The Minister called for collective support from the power sector workers and other stakeholders to enable President Muhammadu Buhari government address the challenges in the sector.
He thanked the workers for their resilience and solicited for calm as issues affecting them would be addressed.
