
Barely 72 hours to the end of this Administration, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has unveiled the first aircraft in the Nigerian Air fleet. Speaking at the unveiling, the Minister gave assurance that the Airline would within 5 years, grow the fleet to 35 Aircraft.
After several months of moving the dates and a protracted court case which is still on, Nigerian Air has been unveiled in fulfilment of the promise of this Administration. The Minister of Aviation gave assurance that if government, with 5% ownership, refuses to forge ahead with the project, the investors with 95 % would continue. Demo flights will start soon. He expressed confidence that the incoming Administration, being APC, would continue with the project.
The representatives of Ethiopian Airlines, major partners in the project, saif the delay was not due to operational issues but the court case and gave assurance that Ethiopian airlines which is the major partner has a track record of high standards and breaking even . He cited the COVID-19 period when according to him, the airline bounced back very fast and even grew while others were depending on bailout.

He promised that within 4 to five years the airline would have at least 30 aircraft in it’s fleet.
